The Nursery program, designed for children aged 4 to 5 years, focuses on preparing them for the academic challenges ahead. The school has adapted the Jolly phonics reading program for the Early years to ensure that our pupils are provided with the right foundation in reading. This facilitates the love for reading, making their academic journey smoother.
Reception and Nursery Classes
Welcome to Reception and Nursery
Our Reception (4-5 years) and Nursery (3-4 years) classes provide a nurturing environment where children begin their educational journey through play-based learning following the EYFS framework.
Nursery Class (3-4 years)
Our Nursery class provides a gentle introduction to school life. Children enjoy a balance of child-initiated and adult-led activities that develop curiosity, independence, and social skills. We focus on building confidence through play and exploration.
Reception Class (4-5 years)
Reception builds on Nursery foundations, preparing children for Year 1. Children engage in more structured learning while still enjoying play-based activities. We introduce formal reading, writing, and number skills through engaging, hands-on experiences.
Daily Routine
A typical day includes welcome activities, carpet time, free-flow play, focused learning sessions, outdoor exploration, story time, and creative activities. We maintain a consistent routine that provides security while allowing flexibility for children’s interests.
Our Learning Environment
Our classrooms are organized into learning zones including reading corners, creative areas, construction, role-play, and investigation stations. Our outdoor space extends learning with physical activities, gardening, water play, and nature exploration.
Parent Partnership
We believe in strong home-school connections. Parents receive regular updates through our digital learning journal, termly meetings, workshops, and informal daily conversations. We encourage family involvement in children’s learning journeys.
The school also caters to the Primary Classes classified into 2 stages: Key stage 1 – Years one and two; and Key stage 2 – year 3 to 6. Here students further build upon their foundational knowledge and harness the innovative, creative and critical thinking skills.
The curriculum encompasses a range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, music, ICT, Nigerian Language and more, providing a well-rounded academic experience.
Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and 2) Lower Primary
Welcome to Key Stage 1
Key Stage 1 (KS1) covers Year 1 and 2, where children build on their foundational skills and knowledge acquired in Reception. Our approach balances structured learning with creative play.
Year 1
In Year 1, children transition from the EYFS framework to the National Curriculum. They develop literacy and numeracy skills through engaging activities, phonics sessions, and hands-on learning experiences.
Year 2

Welcome to Key Stage 2

Year 3
